29RFP Information Session


The 29th Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Education Research Funding Programme (ERFP) is anticipated to be announced in early April 2023. As there is some new information in regard to the ERFP, we ran our virtual Information Session via Zoom on 7 February 2023, Tuesday, 3pm – 5pm. This session was organized by ERFPO and MOE Corporate Research Office (MOE-CRO) work group. We had a successful turnout of registrants from various IHL institution.

The purpose of this session is to provide information pertaining to the purpose and scope of ERFP and to MOE research priorities for this call and in the coming 5-year funding cycle.  The Information Session is an excellent opportunity to better understand the ERFP if you plan to submit an application for this call or in the future. 

During the session, researchers were briefed about on the following: 

  • Education Research Funding Programme (ERFP), focusing on education research in Singapore to improve classroom practice, enhance student outcomes, and build organizational and teacher capacities in Singapore schools 
  • MOE-wide Education Research Agenda (MERA), including 7 cross-cutting themes to encourage a life-course approach to education research. This research could examine the cross-cutting themes within and/or across learner groups in early childhood, general education, higher education, and adult & skills education 
  • General Education Research Agenda (GERA), including four foundational research areas that are of perennial importance to educational policy and practice and are needed for continual improvement of the Singapore education system and also futures strands directing attention to critical problems of policy and practice in the future of learning, of teaching, and of schooling.   
  • Early Childhood Research Agenda (ECRA) seeks to generate localised knowledge to guide the design, implementation, and evaluation of Early Childhood policies and programmes
