30RFP Grant Writing Workshop


The Education Research Funding Programme Office (ERFPO) organised an online 30RFP Education Research Funding Programme (ERFP) Grant Writing Workshop, attended by colleagues from MOE and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), Singapore. This workshop was a follow-up to the 30RFP ERFP Grant Call Briefing that took place on 12 September 2023.  

In this workshop, Dr Khng Kiat Hui, Deputy Director (Academic), Research Management, ERFPO, shared on how to write a successful ERFP proposal. Dr Khng shared tips on the preparation of the Case for Support as well as sharing the fundamentals of writing a good proposal. Dr Khng also highlighted common issues, such as merit and value proposition, conceptual, methodological and feasibility issues. Following that, Dr David Huang, Associate Dean, Strategic Support & Analytics, OER, NIE shared on the use of conjecture mapping to improve the conceptualization of intervention studies. Dr Huang shared the challenges and critiques on intervention proposals as well as points to consider when using conjecture mapping in proposal writing. This session was informative for potential grant applicants by providing relevant details on writing successful grants.
